Review:
This movie was intriguing to me, not only was it Drew Barrymore's first attempt at directing but you don't usually get to watch movies about Roller Derby's. Honestly, I kind of knew what it was but had completely no idea about points or how many people played so this movie opened my eyes to something I didn't know was very entertaining. As far as the movie Drew did herself proud. It was very emotional, funny and down right a pleasure to watch. Though Drew was not seen as much since she was directing, she still appeared enough for me to get my fix of her while still maintaining a great storyline and a fast enough pace that I did not zone out.
Overall the storyline was great and moved at a decent pace, the action was amazing and shot beautifully while the acting brought all of it together in a nice little bundle. Even guys who like action movies may like this as the woman are not the damsel in distress types and the Roller Derby scenes can be brutal at times. There are some lovie dovie type moments, but if you can handle the mush the action is worth it.
Thank you for reading,
