Review:
Since it's another cinderella story you should already know the end, yet this movie kept my interest as the dancing is amazing. I agree that this story has been done so many times it can be hard to get excited when they find some way to make yet another version but this one exactly had something the others don't, a talented cinderella.
In all the other versions the regular person, who turns out to be gorgeous at the ball, has no talent aside from the fact she is smarter than the 'step mother' thinks and is pretty in a ball gown. This cinderella, Selena, while still beautiful in the ball gown has some amazing talent at both singing and dancing which you get to see in the movie. While the storyline maybe something we have seen before a million times, this talented young cinderella is a first. I believe Selena delivered an amazing performance and is proving that she is more than just another disney channel star. Honestly I was little disappointed by Drew's performance, as a singer he has serious talent, yet in acting you can tell he is still a little new and needs more practice.
This movie is recommended to anyone who enjoys watching dance performances, a little singing and high school type drama. Definiately not for the adrenline or action seekers. The romance level is still high school type, so if you don't mind the rating PG and can handle the high school type situations you should enjoy it.
If you like movies such as High School Musical, Hairspray, Princess Diaries and Grease, you may like this one.
