Remember Me - 2010

Starring:
Robert Pattinson, Pierce Brosnan and Emilie de Raven

Rating:
PG - 13 for violence, sexual content, language and smoking

Movie description:
Tragedy leaves its mark on people in different ways, which is clear in the cases of Tyler, played by Robert, and Ally, played by Emilie. After a brief scuffle with a NY cop, Tyler lands in jail with his roommate. Even though Tyler holds no grudge against the cop, his roommate presuades him to contact the cops daughter, Ally, and get close to her. Can a romance bloom between the two broken souls or will the truth behind Tyler's bruises and their first conversation seperate them?

Review:
First of all I would like to say that this movie is not for the faint of heart. It is very much a drama based movie, with emotions running extremely low for a major part of it. I will not give away any spoilers but I will say that both Rob's character, Tyler and Ally, Emilie's character have suffered great family tragedies and this movie shows how they and their families deal with it. The ending is definately a shocker and very heartbreaking, again no spoilers, but I will say that some people will hate this movie because of the ending, or should I say how the ending effects the people who watch it.

I have to say also that I almost disagree with the rating for this movie. For a PG - 13 they seem to push the limits almost to the point that an R rating may have been more suitable. The violence in the movie is not bloody but can be a little graphic and hard to watch. The language was not that bad but the use of the F bomb was really not necessary in the scene it was used in. The sexual content again felt like it was a little much for a PG-13 rating but was done tastfully.

Overall I liked the movie, even the ending, but I know that some people may have a hard time with it. I think that major action fans could like it, as there are a lot of fist fighting scenes, but they would have to deal with the downer type feel of the movie and the small amount of mushy romantic stuff. Romantics may want to avoid this movie as even thought the trailer makes it seem romantic there are very few scenes of it. Fans of Robert P and general drama movies will appreciate this movie and the great storyline and acting that comes with it.

Thank you for reading,
