Movie description:
A princess is kidnapped by an alien force on her wedding day and her new prince sets out with a band of ex-prisoners to rescue her. Along the way the meet both enemies and allies.

Review:
As I was only 2 when this movie came out I can't tell you anything about how it did at the movie theatres, however I do know that it was very popular. I can't remember the first time I watch it only that it was amazing....remember the year it was made, 1983, so don't expect any Matrix style effects. Aside from the effects, which are good considering the year, the storyline is original and the acting excellent. There are some unknown actors in the movie, including the leading man and woman for me, however there are some faces I do know now, Liam Nesson and Robbie Coltrane. Though in this movie neither of them have a huge role they still portray their characters well. Without knowing much about the main actors I can't say how good this movie is compared to others they have starred in, however this movie was truly well done.

This movie is good for a night when you want something sci-fi with a dash of magic, sword fighting and romance. This could be considered a romantic movie as it centers around the prince trying to rescue his bride, but with the sci-fi type fight scenes does not disappoint those looking for the added action. A must see for all sci-fi fans.
